Fiberglass Piping Systems

Fiberglass Piping systems are composite piping systems, fittings, and structures for the oil and gas, chemical, marine, offshore, fuel handling, and mining industries. As the need arises, engineers will specify fiberglass piping systems in the project scope to achieve design demands.

When construction project estimators cost out projects, they may discover specifications for a Fiberglass piping system. Due to the special uniqueness of fiberglass piping systems, project estimators can make a costly error assuming these systems are similar in cost and workmanship to other traditional piping systems, like PVC. This error is exasperated at the installation level when trade skills workers lack the experience and capabilities to execute the installation of fiberglass piping systems. The structure of fiberglass piping systems requires a unique set of knowledge, experience, materials, and skill. Mistaking fiberglass piping systems for something like PVC can be a costly mistake both in project estimation for time, material, and, unfortunately, product failure.

Fiberglass piping system materials and installation applications differ entirely from PVC and other trade materials (Steel, HDPE, copper, etc.). The costs and materials of FRP are higher than PVC, and the installation is more time-consuming and requires a unique installation technique. As a specialty trade provider, we make ourselves available to all General and Sub-Contractors in Maryland and surrounding states like Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and Delaware. We are equipped to travel nationwide.

We strongly advise project estimators to contact us regarding costs for time and materials before submitting their bids. We also recommend project leaders secure our services by scheduling our teams on upcoming projects for reliable and fast installation to keep their projects running on schedule.  Regarding Fiberglass, FRP, or Fiberglass Piping systems, we are the local expert in Maryland, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and the Baltimore / D.C. Metro area. We can provide and install fiberglass piping systems, fittings, and structures for the oil and gas, chemical, marine, offshore, fuel handling, and mining industries.

What are Fiberglass Piping Systems?

Fiberglass Systems are an industry-leading choice in the Chemical and industrial market with composite piping systems designed to provide chemical and abrasion resistance. FRP also has applications in the oil and gas industry and the mining industry.  Fiber-Reinforced Plastics (FRP) is not only chemical resistant but lightweight, easier to repair, stronger than steel, custom fabricated, and does not require a hot work permit for installation and repairs.

RED THREAD pipe installation and repair

Red thread fiberglass pipe is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and long service life. Red Thread Fiberglass is used in chemical services that deal with Saltwater, CO2, crude oil, gas, light chemical, salts, solvents, pH 2-13 solutions, and underground fire protection systems.

Red Thread HP pipe is a filament-wound product using epoxy resins and continuous glass filaments with a resin interior surface. Pipe and fittings are available in 2-inch through 24-inch diameters with pressure ratings up to 450 psig static at a maximum operating temperature of 210 °F, and Diameters up to 36 inches are available upon request. Compatible epoxy fittings are manufactured with the pipe's chemical and temperature capabilities. Depending on the part and size, fittings will be compression molded, contact molded, hand fabricated, or filament wound.

GREEN THREAD Pipe Installation & Repair

Green Thread high-pressure (HP) pipe is a fiber wound item utilizing amine-cured epoxy resin and fiberglass. It also utilizes a resin-rich liner reinforced with a corrosion-resistant surfacing veil. Green thread pipe is recommended for caustics, dilutes acids, and hot brine. For pipe and fittings, 1-16 inch is available with pressure ratings up to 450 psig static at a maximum operating temp of 225 °F or 107°C; 18- to 24-in. diameters are available upon request. In addition, the 1- through 6-in. pipe diameters are available in 20-ft random lengths, and the 8- through 24-in. diameters are available in 19- or 39-ft random lengths. The 1" through 6" pipe diameters are available in 20-foot random lengths, and the 8" through 24" diameters are in 19 or 39-foot random lengths.

Compared to steel, black iron, copper, and stainless steel, Green Thread pipe is lightweight, long-lasting, and durable, which results in significant installation savings due to its lightweight. In addition, no heavy handling equipment or significant structural support is required. Green thread pipe is almost 30% lighter than stainless steel, and it carries NSF Standard 61 for potable water service.

Centricast RB-1520 Fiberglass Pipe installation & Repair

Centricast RB-1520 Fiberglass Pipe is the most chemically resistant pipe in the market. Centricast RB-1520 provides superior chemical resistance, which in turn, providers longer service life over traditional piping materials with a reduction in maintenance and replacement costs. Centricast RB-1520 is recommended for most caustics, salts, solvents, acids, and chemical process solutions up to 225°F or 107 °C and comes in 20-ft nominal or exact lengths and the fittings are socket or flanged and sealable drains.

The 100% resin corrosion barrier, paired with the distinct construction of centrifugally cast RB pipe, enables an easy installation piping system, a strong support system, and the most chemically resistant pipe available to the chemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, steel pickling, and chloro-alkali industry.

Fiberglass is used in all multiple industries for multiple purposes: Swimming Pools, Doors, Boats, Building Insulation, Showers, Bathtubs, Painting, Recreational Vehicles, ladders, Glass (Visual Art form), exterior doors, and more. Most residential repairs can be easily fixed with a fiberglass repair kit.

Furthermore, fiberglass is also used in the commercial and industrial industry for its durability, light weight, strength, and chemical resistance. Fiberglass forms an extremely strong bond and durable composite and is the first choice for companies that deal with chemicals and offer chemical delivery services. In order to successfully run their business plant managers and maintenance, managers need durable fiberglass tanks, straight trucks, MiniBulk Tankers, Tanker Trailers, Fiberglass Gas Tanks, Fiberglass Oil Tanks, and Fiberglass Water Tanks. We also perform fiberglass repair work for fiberglass tank manufacturers like Xerxes tanks as well as make custom fiberglass fabrications for installation companies like Tanks Direct

Power companies like BGE or Altec use aerial lifts and buckets, made out of fiberglass, to repair downed power lines and trim trees. Water Parks like Legoland Florida and Six Flags White Water use fiberglass for their slides and pool liners. Fiberglass is truly an important factor for businesses all over the world. Can Fiberglass be repaired? Absolutely! It can also be molded and custom fabricated to form any structure desired.
